Beach Daze

Normally abuzz with activity, this beach hut sits along the shoreline in Amagansett, New York. While greater views of the ocean are abundant all around, I chose a vantage point looking away from the water. I love the contrast of how the sand meets the grass, with the hut perched on top. The sunlight makes the weathered wood glow with warmth while the side in shadow remains a cool respite on a hot summer day. It was fun to play with a hierarchy of detail, as the hut was my focal point, while the grass and sand and crooked telephone pole melted into the periphery.
