Sentinel

The fiery red sky dominates the painting. But, the subtleties are what drew me in. I love the glorious glow of the sunset soaking through the flag. And I was amazed by the contrast of the intricately geometric life guard stand with the softness of the sand and atmosphere. The best part is the sunlight pouring over the edge of the stand. I wanted the viewer to want to put on a pair of sunglasses while they reveled in the fleeting moment that we're all familiar with.
