The painting is the result of a local Maui beach walk in the mornings during COVID-19. Restrictions in movements of the population only allowed me to do quick sketches and photos due to quarantine. We could not linger on the beaches or parks. I'd return to the spot every day as I made progress in the studio with this painting, until I had enough information to complete the painting.
