Sunrise on Bow Lake

watercolour |11 by 14 inches | arches 300lb For several years I attended a professional conference in Jasper in May and would take the time to stay overnight at Num-Ti-Ja Lodge at Bow Lake. There were very few mid-week guests. I loved to get up before sunrise and watch the alpine glow develop on the mountain peaks. It was a very quiet time devoid of all tourists and noise. Only once did I encounter a grizzly bear at this location.
