'Winter Pines' was drawn using all-graphite pencils on a full sheet of cold press Arches watercolour paper. The difficulty in creating this piece was two-fold. First was the cold winter temperatures during the preliminary sketch stage, and secondly, depicting the intricacies of branches and snow patches by leaving untouched paper for the pure whites.
