Northern Flickers my New Neighbors

These Northern Flickers built their home in a tree just over my back fence! The painting is done with Golden OPEN Acrylic. Molding paste is used to give texture to the tree bark, and shape to the birds. ,this along with the standard techniques for shadow and highlights gives an enhanced sense of realism.
