I was in a funk, depressed about the state of our country and about the horrible effect of COVID on my community in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, and I had not painted in a few weeks. Then I awakened one day with the idea of painting something soothing to ease my psyche and give me the encouragement to move forward. This is what emerged. The South Texas Gulf Coast can be thrilling and peaceful at dawn, and it always calms my spirit.
