Mount Adams Presiding Over the Columbia River

The Pacific Northwest of the United States is home to numerous volcanic mountains that boast of snow caps year around. All are beautiful but Mount Adams is particularly fine example. When the atmospheric conditions are right, it looms large and seems to preside over the surrounding landscape. This is a large painting to create that sense of grandeur. It was developed from a number on on-site smaller studies and partly on-site.
