Ava on a Blanket

Picture was taken of my Granddaughter, shortly after notification of my daughter being diagnosed with breast cancer. Her pose on the blanket reached out to me saying, "Everything is going to be okay, Mama." Her folded hands showed confidence and resolution that defeating the cancer on this difficult path would be something the family would get through. I chose pencil so that we as a a family could be in the presence of Molly, my daughter, during her chemo therapy treatments to support her. It is also gave me real time experiences with Ava, being able to glance at her and pick up on the essence of her as I drew.
