Ovule

Ovule is the part of the flower in the ovary. The bottle is symbolic of the womb. So maybe the work is symbolic of the reproduction of life visually in play off the reproduction of life, the ovary being the foundation of creation. The summer in lockdown painted in the makeshift studio of my girlfriends porch and flowers from her garden. I’m told the spindly nature of the lily is in the mannerist style (elongated necks).
