The Red Vase

The Red Vase, Floral
The Red Vase
The Red Vase/ Painting during the 2020 pandemic, locked down on my girlfriend's porch in a makeshift studio painting her glassware and flowers from hers and my garden. The Iris were a gift to my mother in nursing home before she passed... I planted the bulbs cut from the flowers dug up from the farmers garden on my way to see her, and planted them in my yard, so they are a sweet reminder of loved ones past. Red the color of love. I don't know what to say about the dish towel given to me to paint with other than it was the setting for my still life and symbolic of domestic life. 20x16 oil on pre-stretched, black acrylic gessoed canvas.
