Winter Day at Delta Ponds

I captured this plein air painting live on location at Delta Ponds in Eugene, Oregon on a less-than-frigid January Winter's day. Here in Oregon, near the 45th parallel, the sun does not get very high in Winter. The low sun that day cast a lovely, cool light on the water. The bare trees and shrubs on the banks made interesting reflections in the pond. Buildings faded in the misty distance gave depth to the scene.
