A Calming Influence

With these unsettling times we are living in, due to COVID-19, I am returning to a subject that soothes me, waterlilies. The title of each painting in the series reflects how I am feeling, dealing with the crisis while in the process of creation. The beautiful, calming subject matter puts my mind at ease while working, and I lose myself into a meditative state. In many ancient cultures the waterlily symbolizes rebirth and peace, and I’m conscious of this while working on this series. It is my hope that as we come out on the other side of this global pandemic, we have renewed hope for a better future.
