Lilacs and their fragrant offerings timelessly awaken the senses in all of our hearts and minds. Whom or where do they send your memory banks too? This Artists thinks of her mom and childhood yard lined with her plantings. These lilacs are from the courtyard of Maynard Dixon's Log home built in the 30's and preserved as a Living Museum by the Thunderbird Foundation in Utah. Even though Zion National Park was a short drive down the road, these lilacs, and EVERY bush on the grounds being in bloom beckoned. Blessed with the opportunity to be an Artists in Resident at this beautiful place, the Artist chose the gift at hand, and set up an outdoor still life, where their fragrant offering could fully influence, along with their play of light and endless colors in the shades of white. Title taken from Eph 5:1-2
