Yellow Reading Chair under the Apple tree Spring

In the middle of winter I brought our daughters yellow reading chair outside to paint it under the apple tree. Well here is again in Spring. This is a large plein air painting completed over several sessions outdoors. For me the chair represents a day when the kids will be gone and grown. I am the apple tree this time, waiting for them to come and sit with me. So lovely under an apple tree…bees, blossoms and the promise of fruit. This painting invites you to come and sit, read a book and rest in the beauty of the garden.
