Haybales on Chapel Bank

This is a large plein air piece for me. Painted in one session as a commission for my neighbouring farmer. Had to work quickly and I really enjoyed it. The mound of land in the distance is called Chapel Bank and until the mid 1800 s a chapel stood on the top. It was moved brick by brick to lower ground but the grave yard is still there. The haybales didnt hang around long this year. they were bailed one day and moved the next so I only had the one shot!
